Selected accomplishments and projects include:
- ERP Hardware Upgrade
Managed 100+ member, multi-disciplined team located throughout the US and Canada to upgrade primary infrastructure for Oracle-based SAP environment. Responsible for all project phases, including initiation, analysis, solution selection, testing, implementation, and closure. Worked with multiple vendors and suppliers and complied with internal SDLC standards and external regulations, such as FDA, HIPAA, and SOX. Project was completed with minimal business disruptions and no post go-live issues. The project's success reduced the annual financial close cycle and prepared the environment to support projected growth through 2009, during which time the business plans to exceed $1 billion in revenue.
- Disaster Recovery Infrastructure
Assumed management of project to design and implement a scaleable disaster recovery solution for SAP and its ancillary systems. Worked with 3 vendors and coordinated resources across the US. Maximized use of the remaining budget to design, test, and implement disaster fail-over capabilities for primary infrastructure components. The project also encompassed a database restructuring, a mass storage migration, the development of new system functionality, and the creation of disaster recovery procedures. Recovered project from failure state to full implementation within three months, thus enabling the business to comply with service contracts and to meet corporate disaster recovery requirements.
- SAP Hot Pack Implementation
Under the sponsorship of multiple business leaders, managed 90+member team to apply SAP patches. The project included the analysis and application of 2.5 years of patches and the development of a business-wide test team to validate all critical functionality for R/3, BW, CRM and 30+ ancillary systems. Redesigned business processes to remove system change barriers and to ensure continual system improvements and testing were possible within the environment.
- Product Localization Projects (various)
Managed localization/globalization efforts within software R&D for embedded products, resulting in successful product launches in the European and Asian markets. Negotiated and developed schedules, assigned resources, and implemented process and communication improvements. Worked with international resources to develop initial translations of the software user interface and product manuals. Established localization practices for software development and directed software engineers in the implementation of the translations. Coordinated the distribution of software, documents, test cases, etc., between team members. Tested translated software for usability and cross-cultural accuracy. Conceptualized and managed implementation of software tools to facilitate translations. Proposed software architecture redesign to facilitate localization.
- Configuration Management Migration
Established SCM practices for the external pump software R&D department and implemented formal software development life cycle. Designed and implemented all aspects of the SCM system including version control, change control, defect tracking, code authentication, documentation standards, communication structures, etc. Migrated existing code base from outsourced management systems to internal system. After implementation, served as configuration manager. Oversaw development staff to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements and trained development personnel. Maintained SCM release schedules and administered SCM related tools. Served as member of the company-wide Change Control Board for all external products.
